In order to support ZUGFeRD PDF Metadata in Gnuaccounting 0.8.5 we just intiated the Mustang-project<\/h2>\n

For the upcoming release of the free accounting application Gnuaccounting 0.8.5,
\nusegroup implemented the ZUGFeRD standard for the first time in a permissive open source license.<\/p>\n

ZUGFeRD is an open standard based on other open standards like PDF and XML.
\nNevertheless, so far there were few libraries with complete write support:
\ncommercial ones, not suitable for use in open source software and
\nKonik, open source but de facto not allowed for commercial use because
\nit is published under a so called restrictive open source licence.<\/p>\n

The “Mustang project” open source Java ZUGFeRD-library is based on
\nthe Apache PDFBox-library and uses the same, liberal, Apache Public License 2.0.<\/p>\n

This allows the use of the “Mustang project” library in both commercial and
\nopen source software.<\/p>\n

With the upcoming release of ZUGFeRD 1.0, the “Mustang project” will check
\nif it can be merged e.g. with Konik or with Apache PDFBox.<\/p>\n

About ZUGFeRD:<\/p>\n

ZUGFeRD-compliant PDF invoices include machine readable metadata of the contents of the invoice,
\nwhich would otherwise have to be manually read and typed, like total amount and payment recipient.<\/p>\n

About Konik:<\/p>\n

Konik is a open source library for ZUGFeRD compliant invoicing.
\nThe author, Vadim Bauer, released the current revision 0.2.0 under

Apache PDFBox is a generic Java PDF library, allowing the creation, manipulation and extraction
